The NBA and Sportradar Form Global Partnership for Multiple Years
Sportradar is forming a specialised team to innovate and revolutionise the fan experience, and the new partnership also includes wider distribution rights for player monitoring data.
Forecasts indicate that the NBA will generate more than twice as much revenue as American football in 2021, with a total of €112 billion ($126.69) in betting turnover worldwide, compared to €41.87 billion.
Carsten Koerl, Global CEO of Sportradar, expressed his excitement that the NBA has selected Sportradar as an Official Partner that can contribute to the game's immense popularity and rapid expansion around the world. "Because of our position as a market leader, our technological expertise, and our industry relationships, we are in the best position to assist the NBA in entertaining fans all over the world for basketball, which is the most popular sport in the United States."
When the NBA appointed Sportradar as an Official Provider of Real-time NBA League Statistics in 2016, the two organisations began working together, and this arrangement just serves to prolong that partnership.
"Sportradar has been a terrific partner as the league has navigated its exploration into the global sports betting landscape," said Scott Kaufman-Ross, NBA Senior VP and head of gaming and new business ventures.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with Sportradar as the market continues to grow. Together, we can use data and insights to design innovative fan experiences and revolutionise the NBA on a global scale.”
