Swedish market responsible gambling indicators published by Kindred
The primary indicators show the proportion of customers who were contacted because of probable or proven problematic gambling behaviour, and they are sent to the Swedish Gambling Authority every six months.
Kindred, ATG, and Svenska Spel are three licenced operators in Sweden that have committed to making public four key KPIs beginning in the autumn of 2022. The goal is to raise people's consciousness of the companies' initiatives to encourage ethical gaming. In Sweden, 0.5% of consumers are contacted when problematic gambling is suspected or detected, according to the data. Out of the players we contacted, 77% cut back on gaming and 76% cut back on deposit amounts. In addition, 1.4% of the individuals contacted opted to self-exclude from Kindred for a period of less than six months, while 0.5% of the people contacted opted to do so for a period of six months or longer. Our decision to openly publish important customer behaviour data, along with our Journey towards zero ambition, will make it easier for our stakeholders to follow and understand how we, with the help of regulation, technology, research, and human interaction, work to prevent harmful gambling," said Hendrik Tjärnström, CEO of Kindred Group. The company also announced its partnership with ATG and Svenska Spel in this regard. We hope more operators would follow our lead and engage in more fact-based and transparent discourse to help make our industry more sustainable. Kindred Group, however, reported "strong" year-over-year growth in overall group revenues, reaching around £305 million ($372.6 million), as per its unaudited performance update. Outside of the Netherlands, this was just a 3% increase, despite a 24% increase in total revenue compared to the same period last year. Kindred had its second-highest quarterly total of 1.83 million active users, a 25% increase over last year's fourth quarter. Advertising expenditures leading up to and during the World Cup contributed to this expansion.
