'Betting.Online' domain sold for $400k
According to Radix, the operator of the domain register, the domain name "betting.online" was sold for $400,000.
For gTLDs, or generic top-level domains, it sets a new standard for domain purchases.
The deal, which was facilitated by escrow.com and finalised directly with the registry, is now the joint fifth-highest domain sale of all top-level domains (TLDs) for 2023, according to DNJournal.
More than 160,000 unique people to casino.online every month, with 34% of that total coming from direct referrals, according to data compiled by SimilarWeb.
After Casino.online's acquisition of betting.online, CEO Patrick Gerhard made a statement. The purchase of betting.online marks a major achievement for our company, he said. We plan to strengthen our position in the industry by utilising this.online domain. Such valuable sectors are in perfect harmony with the goals and aspirations of our brand.
There are domains in Radix's platinum inventory that are worth more than six figures USD. For future sales, the register intends to either work directly with prospective clients or partner with brokerages and online markets.
A rising interest in premium domains among gaming enterprises is seen in the acquisition of both casino.online and betting.online. The worldwide digital media conglomerate XLMedia has just received an upfront payment of $4 million for the sale of three of its European gaming domains and associated websites: Casino.se, Casino.gr, and Casino.pt.
Also, in November 2022, Gambling.com Group bought the domain Casinos.com and launched it. Like Gambling.com, this website is an affiliate network that provides customers with reviews, bonus codes, and affiliate links to other online casinos.
